We just adopted a shelter pup and she's about 3 months old. What is a good age to take her to obedience training? Also... any tips on how to keep her from jumping up on people? She does it when she's excited and she knocks my son down or get people muddy......thanks :)

I've been swatting up on housebreaking and have come across crating puppies to housetrain them. Has anyone used this technique - pros/cons or is using puppy bed and cleaning up accidents best for pup? Also what size should the crate be - I've bought one but I think it's too small personally - he can only just turn around in it - I'd be grateful for your views on this.

I have a 5 mth old Pup who is Housebroken, worked within a week with the Crate, but we just got a 10 wk. old and I find it hard to tell when she has to go as the 2 pups are usually playing and if she seems to be running to the door he chases her so she runs in the opposite direction. I didn't know if we should try the puppy pads.

My Golden Retriever/Black Lab Mix is 9 weeks old.I go to school and my family goes to work and my pup gets left alone for about 7 hours. What I used to do is let him roam free, but now he is starting to urinate and poop inside the house. Im going to get his crate today, but what should I stock it up with??, if anything. Also, I know he is going to start whining when I put him inside the crate. So how can I introduce him to his crate?? Is it ok to leave a 9 week old puppy in a crate for 7 hours??

Does anyone have experience with this that can tell me if it is helpful or not. My pup is pretty smart. She is 3 months old, and she knows sit, lay down, go potty, and get in your crate. She is learning heel and come and doing well. I just wondered if a clicker would help her learn faster or if I should bother.
